  Shared River Basins

Shared river basins are river basins that spans across two or more countries. They are usually larger than national basins and less homogeneous. Natural and socio-economic conditions, culture and language often differ significantly between different parts of the basin, and consequently upstream-downstream conflicts can occur easily.
